I continue to be very impressed with KTLN - not only for its content, but also they way it is very informative but shows discretion in the way it reports, but is very clear in its content. Well done and thank you.

Kalkan WebcamKalkan Turkish Local News has six webcams.  The first, and original webcam provides high level views over Kalkan Bay, and the second webcam, launched in July 2009, is located at the Mavi Bilgisayar office, on the second floor of the old Belediye building, on Mustafa Kocakaya Caddesi.

In October 2009, we introduced camera No 3, showing great views of Kalamar Bay.  And in June 2010 we switched on our fourth camera, hosted by Gironda, in the heart of the old town.

Our fifth camera was launched on 30th December 2010, and is hosted by Aubergine restaurant.  It gives a great view of the harbour.

The sixth webcam is located on the Korsan Fish Terrace, and provides a wonderful view of Kalkan beach and Kalkan Bay.

The question of privacy
Kalkan Turkish Local News respects your privacy.  That is why we have deliberately positioned our web cameras in such a way as to make it difficult, if not impossible, to identify individuals.  We don't want to intrude on your personal enjoyment of Kalkan.

The images from our webcams are normally over-written on our servers after a few minutes, so we don't keep a history.

Temporary outages
Our live webcams stream jpeg images from Kalkan to our server here in the UK.  Very occasionally there may be temporary breaks in service due to either prolonged power outages or problems with internet connectivity.

We do our best to restore images as soon as possible, but some problems may take a while to resolve.  Please bear with us.

Different ways to access KTLN webcams
As registered members of KTLN you have access to our webcams in four ways:

  • Webcam Browser – Accessed by clicking on Kalkan Live Webcams in our main menu, then on Kalkan Bay Browser.  This allows you to see an image of Kalkan Bay from the last two minutes and browse back over the past 24 to 48 hours at 2 minute intervals.  The browser pictures run from just before dawn to 10pm every day.
  • Live Webcams – Accessed by clicking on Kalkan Webcam Live in the Main Menu on the left.  There are six webcams to choose from.  These show images of Kalkan Bay,  the main street in townKalamar Bay, the old town, the harbour, and the beach, all of which update every few seconds.  These cameras are always live. (The old town webcam is only available in season).
  • See all six webcams on one screen, at our webcam home page (new for June 2010).
  • Webcam Feed – If you have a web site or blog, you can now include a live picture from the Kalkan Bay Webcam for your visitors. Just copy and paste the code provided and hey presto. No technical knowledge required.

If you enjoy the webcams, please tell someone about it and share the fun!
