KTLN would like to introduce you to a fledgeling club that is about to take off.

The Kalkan Lykian Rugby Football Club (KLRFC) is the idea of Keith White, a British born rugby fan, who has settled in Kalkan

But as we shall explain, this is not an expat social club - it has a community based ethos, which aims to embrace the youth of Kalkan.

If you own or hire a car in Kalkan, you may be interested to learn about changes currently being made to car parking in town.

The car park adjacent to the recently renovated Mustafa Kocakaya school, by the roundabout in town, has been closed off.  Gates are being erected.

The school is set to reopen later this year, but given that all schools in Turkey broke up for the summer holidays last week, it had been anticipated that this car park would remain available, at least over the summer months.

Here is a reminder about the Beach Card (Plaj Kart) that's available at nearby Patara.

Did you know that you can buy a special pass to visit Patara Beach.  You can buy them at the entry point, by the barrier, which is run by the government TURSAB agency.

There are two Plaj Karts to choose from. For 25 entries, you pay 15TL, or for just 10 entries, you pay 7.50TL.

Last month, Turkey's parliament passed a law that restricts the sale of alcohol, and imposes restrictions on advertising.

The law has now been approved by President Gül.  Details were published in the Resmi Gazete on 11th June 2013.  Some articles come into immediate effect, with others delayed.

The schedule for the 16th International Lycian Culture & Arts Festival, has been announced by Kaş Belediye

The three day festival begins on Friday 21st June, and ends on Sunday 23rd June.

An exhibition, featuring the work of two people, opens this Saturday 15th June, at the Kalkan Culture House.
