Water alert update - Change of date: Kalkan Belediye has announced that the water supply is about to be disrupted, so that broken pipes can be repaired.
The water was originally due to be cut on Wednesday 19th June, but now we are told it will be off across all areas of Kalkan from Friday 28th June, for 3 days. However the water supply may also be affected from late Thursday 27th June, as the pipes are drained. |

The Kalkan Lykian Rugby Football Club (KLRFC) is the idea of Keith White, a British born rugby fan, who has settled in Kalkan But as we shall explain, this is not an expat social club - it has a community based ethos, which aims to embrace the youth of Kalkan. |

If you own or hire a car in Kalkan, you may be interested to learn about changes currently being made to car parking in town. The car park adjacent to the recently renovated Mustafa Kocakaya school, by the roundabout in town, has been closed off. Gates are being erected. The school is set to reopen later this year, but given that all schools in Turkey broke up for the summer holidays last week, it had been anticipated that this car park would remain available, at least over the summer months. |

Here is a reminder about the Beach Card (Plaj Kart) that's available at nearby Patara. Did you know that you can buy a special pass to visit Patara Beach. You can buy them at the entry point, by the barrier, which is run by the government TURSAB agency. There are two Plaj Karts to choose from. For 25 entries, you pay 15TL, or for just 10 entries, you pay 7.50TL. |

Last month, Turkey's parliament passed a law that restricts the sale of alcohol, and imposes restrictions on advertising.
The law has now been approved by President Gül. Details were published in the Resmi Gazete on 11th June 2013. Some articles come into immediate effect, with others delayed. In this report, KTLN brings you the details, and we look at how it will affect tourist destinations, such as Kalkan. |

An exhibition, featuring the work of two people, opens this Saturday 15th June, at the Kalkan Culture House. You can find some excellent artwork from local painter Emine Bak, and some brilliant images from local photographer Devrim Çelebi. There will be an opening cocktail party starting at 18.00, to which everyone is invited. |
