TCIP - earthquakesYesterday, (Sunday) saw two light to moderate earthquakes in or near to Turkey.

On Sunday afternoon, there was an earthquake off the eastern coast of Crete - some 200 miles away from Kalkan

It registered 5.0 according to the US Geological Survey (USGS), and was measured at 5.4 by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).  It was followed by an aftershock registering 4.4.

These events come just one month after Crete felt a 4.8 quake.

Later, on Sunday evening, a quake measuring 4.4 occured in the Sea of Marmara - and was felt in parts of Istanbul.

There have been no reports of damage from either earthquake.
