Calling all football players in Kalkan.

Kalkan Belediye is once again sponsoring a local football tournament and if you want to enter a team, now is the time to get yourselves organised.

The tournament is open to everyone in Kalkan and surrounding towns.

If you are interested, here are the details.

You can register a squad of up to 10 players.  Matches are played with 6 players per team (5 outfield and 1 goalkeeper).

It costs 200TL per team to enter the competition.  The teams that end up in the top 3 places will get trophies and cash prizes - the amount of the prize money will depend upon how many teams enter the competition.

You must submit your list of players, and your team name by Thursday 21st October 2010.  Details should be handed in at the Belediye. 

Fixtures will be published on Friday 22nd October, and the first game will be played on Saturday 23rd October.  The tournament should take about one month to play, subject to the number of teams playing. 

No games will be played at Kurban Bayram or Cumhuriyet Bayram.

Ideally, your team should wear the same kit.  Perhaps you can find a local business to sponsor you.

Why not have a go.  After all, following the dismal international football performances over recent days, you can't do any worse than the professionals!
