The most powerful thing about the site is the combination of such useful, informative and educative information about Kalkan (and Turkey) in one web site.  Kalkan News is the first thing I read on KTLN.

Due to a good response, there will be 5 different levels of Turkish lessons provided this year at Kaş Halk Eğitim Merkezi.

The lessons will commence next week, starting Monday the 25th October.  We provide details below.

If you missed the deadline, but would still like to join, the organisers will do what they can to accommodate you.

Classes are as follows:
1A
(beginners) Monday mornings 9.45-12.30 Teacher- Kate
1B (Aslı's beginners from last year) Monday afternoons 1.30-4.30 Teacher- Kate
2A (Hülya's group from last year) Tuesday afternoons 1.30-4.30 Teacher- Engin (until new teacher starts)
2B (İnci and Engin's groups from last year) Wednesday afternoons 1.30-4.30 Teacher - Burcu
3 (Advanced group/Book 5 from last year) Thursday afternoons 1.30-4.30 Teacher- Yıldız

They are ordering new books this year, which focus more on daily, conversational turkish and have activities to encourage listening, speaking reading and writing. They will discuss this at the first lesson, but if you have enroled as a return student, please bring your old books with you, as they may also use these in conjunction with the new ones. The new advanced books are not available yet, so the advanced class will continue with the old book 5 for the moment.

If you find that the class you join is not at your level, there will be no problem trying/changing to another class, as long as you let Engin know. He has made a tentative list of who is in what class, but realises that this may change.

For those of you who have put your name down, but haven't filled in the form, can you please bring your passport or kimlik to the first lesson so that a copy can be made.

If you have any queries about any of the classes or your possible level, please contact Kate at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
