By the time the group played their first song the crowd must have been close to a thousand, if you count those viewing from some of the restaurants overlooking the venue, between the Fener Bar and Jasmine Garden restaurant. The audience was a real mix of people - old and young, residents and visitors, and everyone appeared to be having a good time. This was a well supported event, which certainly had a feel good factor. Thanks to Kalkan Belediye for organising a great show, which was appreciated by residents and tourists alike. If you want to know more about this group go to www.yeniturku.com Share |

On the evening of Sunday 19th April, Kalkan Belediye organised an open air concert by the harbour, to mark Tourism Week in Turkey. The star attraction was a popular and well established group called Yeni Türkü, who performed a number of modern Turkish folk songs.
The audience gathered from 8pm and proceedings kicked off at 9pm with speeches from Kalkan's new Mayor, Saim Karakurt, and the Kaymakam of Kaş, Süleyman Yılmaz.
