On the afternoon of Wednesday 15th December, it's party time for the children who attend the Rehabilitation Centre in Kalkan. Staff, children and family members will meet in the main hall of the Kalkan First School. Also invited are other special needs children, and their families, from neighbouring Kaş.There will be food and entertainment for the estimated 150 people in attendance. For many of them, there are not many opportunities to get together in this way, so it promises to be a fun day out.
This gathering has been organised by the friends of the Rehabilitation Centre. Recent fundraising events have helped to pay for the day (covering the cost of food and additional transport requirements). The party is not open to the public, however the organisers are seeking volunteers to help supervise the children on the day. Normally, the children attend the Rehabilitation Centre in small groups - not all together, so there are not enough staff to deal with everyone turning up at the same time.
