The children attend the special needs school in small groups, and this was the first time that all of them have been together. In fact, they were joined by over 50 children and family members from a similar school in Kaş. The party was so large - we estimate around 150 in total - that they had to use a hall at Kalkan First School.Funds raised by the local community paid for buses to transport everyone to and from the party, plus food, drink, and party bags, filled with goodies, for the children to take home. The children are also being provided with warm winter clothing, and thanks to you, the KTLN readers, The KTLN Trust has bought every child a new pair of shoes, in time for winter. Acting Mayor, Raşit Akdeniz, came along to show his support. Senior managers from the government department in Kaş, that oversees the work of the Rehabilitation Centre, were also present. Here are a few photos from the party. Plus, at the end of this article, you will see a video that Kalkan Turkish Local News has made, which is a montage of photos from the Kalkan school, which provide an insight into the wonderful work they do. We hope you like it. Below: Count the E numbers!
