KTLN is a very useful site indeed & I shall be visiting more often, hopefully daily. I like the fact that the news is up to the minute. I particularly like the webcams. Keep up the good work.

If you were awake at 05.45 this morning, you would have seen and heard driving rain and hailstones, not to mention the odd clap of thunder. At the peak of the storm, the ezan could just about be heard, calling on people to pray. Anyone responding would have been soaked to the skin.
From a couple of nights ago - islands in Kalkan Bay illuminated by overnight lightning.
We think the following image, taken by local photographer, Devrim Çelebi is amazing.
Once more, Belediye workers were out in force this morning, clearing assorted rocks and bits of vegetation from the roads. Between Kışla and Kızıltaş, the surface of the D400 Kaş to Fethiye road had to be cleared this morning, following large amounts of soil and rock being washed down the mountain sides.
In town, there was a build up of debris at the Kaya roundabout, but the brick construction of many roads appears to be holding up well, against the torrent of surface water flowing down to the harbour.
The water in the bay and harbour has turned red, as large amounts of topsoil mix with rain and pour in.
Today's weather will be mostly cloudy, with rain, although later this evening, and overnight, the Turkish meteorological office is predicting stormy weather, with heavy rain and gale force winds. Time to batten down the hatches once more. KTLN - your window on Kalkan Turkey.Katie-Ellen |

Kalkan woke up this morning, (Thursday), to yet another storm - and there is more to come tonight.
