Tax is due in two instalments - in January and July.The Turkish tax authorities are increasing vehicle tax by just under 8% from January 2011. For example, a new 1,600cc car would have cost 648TL in tax this year. Next year it will be 698TL - an increase of 50TL (7.7%) A new 125cc scooter was taxed at 78TL in 2010, but is 84TL in 2011, an increase of 7.7%.
