We may not have a firework display to match London or Sydney, but there was a great atmosphere in Kalkan on New Year's Eve.

Many hundreds of people turned out to bid farewell to 2010, and to welcome in 2011.

There were parties in quite a few bars and restaurants, but as usual, the largest gathering as midnight approached, was down at the harbour.

The weather was kind for the late night revellers; no wind or rain, and not too chilly, with braziers burning along the road outside Trio and Aubergine.

One of the best things about New Year's Eve in Kalkan is the friendly atmosphere, as Turkish residents and foreigners celebrate together. 

Some pretty powerful sound systems had been borrowed for the evening, to cater for those who wanted to dance the night away - we imagine there were some sore feet the following morning, not to mention a few sore heads!

Just in time for the celebrations, KTLN switched on its fifth webcam, by the harbour. We know from feedback received, that quite a few people in other countries enjoyed watching Kalkan in the run up to midnight - many in the UK, but also in the USA and Canada.
