| Friday, 24 April 2009 |
Share A number of proud parents and friends turned out on the evening of Thursday 23rd April to take part in a parade by the children from Kalkan Nursery School, (Özel Akdeniz Minikler Koleji). Some time after 8pm, the youngsters, aged between 3 and 6, set off from the school on Gül Sokak and walked down into town and then back uphill to the Wedding Salon - just behind the bus station. The Mayor, Saim Karakurt completed a busy day by coming along to watch the children sing and dance. He made a brief speech in which he said how important the day is in Turkey and how important children are for the future of Turkey. There was also a charming exhibition of work that the children have done this term. See photos.Share |
