Share Article updated: Cenk Toparlakli, owner of Parc Kalkan, is organising a day trip to go skiing on Eren Dağ, near the town of Seki - less than a couple of hours away from Kalkan. This ski resort has been spoken about for some time, but its existence has remained shrouded in mystery. However, KTLN can confirm that it is up and running, and it has lots of snow. In fact, more fresh snow was forecast for this weekend. It is hard to imagine that as Kalkan is basking in the warmth of the winter sun, (so warm in fact that last night we heard the sound of some very early cicadas), just a short drive away, is a mountain full of snow. Who can go? Below: How to relax, off piste.
How much does it cost? An all day ski pass will cost 30TL. You can hire skis and boots for 30TL, but they don't supply any other clothing, so you need your own kit, to keep warm. Below: The ski and boot hire is great value, but if you are on a budget, try taking a sheet of plastic.
When is the trip taking place? The bus will leave between 08.30 and 09.00 (exact time to be confirmed). There will be time to ski between 11.00 and 15.00 (approximately). The bus will set off back around 16.00, and should arrive in Kalkan around 18.00. Interested? Contact Cenk Alternatively, you can leave a message with us at KTLN, and we will pass it on. Find out more about the ski centre Please note: Skiing can be regarded as a high risk sport. On this trip, you ski at your own risk. You may wish to check whether you have appropriate insurance cover for this type of activity. KTLN - your window on Kalkan Turkey. Katie-Ellen |
