The transfer of responsibility coincides with a physical transfer of location, as the library is moved from under the Belediye, to the place where Deniz Bank used to be, (opposite the taxi rank in town). The relocation was planned some time ago, but over 5,000 books are now, finally, being moved to their new home. KTLN understands that the new library will have internet access. It is expected that the move will be completed this month, and the doors will open to the public at the start of February. Below: A meeting in the Mayor's office, where the handover was formally made.
Below: The new library - on the ground floor of the old Belediye building in town. The door is round the corner - where it was when Deniz Bank was there. KTLN - your window on Kalkan Turkey. Katie-Ellen |
