Kalkan webcamsHere is a quick update on the Kalkan Turkish Local News webcams.

Firstly, apologies that some webcam views have not been available recently.

Unfortunately, webcams are susceptible to the occasional power cut or ADSL outage, which can occur - especially in the winter months.

We do try and restore images as quickly as we can.

KTLN home page - webcam image
Eagle-eyed readers may have noticed that we have made a change to the webcam image that appears in the top right corner the KTLN home page.

Kalkan webcamsThis used to show the original Kalkan Bay webcam, and if you clicked on it, you could see images taken at 2 minute intervals throughout the day.

So, for example, you could look back at a particularly nice sunrise or sunset, that you may have missed from earlier in the day.

Now, we have changed it, so that you see a random webcam image, from those KTLN cameras that are online. So with a bit of luck, you should always see a live image.

You can still browse through the time interval images from the Kalkan Bay webcam, by clicking on Kalkan Live Webcams in our main menu, and then choosing Kalkan Bay Browser.

A few fixes coming up
Very soon, the ghostly reflection that appears in the Aubergine webcam will disappear, as we update the kit. And by April, we should get our Old Town webcam at Gironda restaurant, back online.

As you may know, our position on webcams is that we have enough of them now. Each camera costs money to set up, and requires maintenance to keep it working.

However, we have been in discussions with another business in Kalkan, about another webcam. This view would be so good, that we felt we just had to bring it to you.

So, we are pleased to announce that in time for the 2011 tourist season, we will have KTLN webcam No. 6 online.  We think that many KTLN members will love it.

Mmmm - I wonder where it could be?
