We can announce that we have brought back the KTLN Classified Adverts, ahead of our planned online auction, in March.

We will use the Classified Adverts facility to allow you to bid for auction items, but we are switching it back on now, for general use.

We removed Classified Adverts from the website a while ago, due to lack of use, however since its removal, a number of people have asked if we can bring it back.

So here is what we will do.  Once the online auction has finished, we will leave the KTLN Classified Adverts in place, until the end of April.  If the facility is used by more than just a handful of people, we will keep it.  If not, we will remove it, as we don't wish to clog up the website with things that are not used.

A few changes
We have decided to make a few changes. 

We no longer have sections for property sales and property rentals.  The reason is simple - the internet is awash with websites selling and renting property.  We don't think another webste is required in Kalkan, on this subject, so we are not going to join the throng.

And in response to your feedback, our Classified Adverts now has a section where you can request an airport transfer share.

Airport Transfer Sharing
Simply place an advert, like any other, but show the price of the item as zero.  For ease of reference, when you list your transfer share request, we recommend that in the title you simply type the date and the start and end points of the transfer.  For example, "20/01/11 Kalkan to Dalaman".

In the details section you can provide more information.

You will also notice that we have an Airport Transfer Sharing link to all of the airport transfer share requests, on the right hand side of the home page - just below 'Latest Events', and above 'Kalkan Weather.'  Just one click on this link, and you can see what is listed.

KTLN members may send messages via Classified Adverts, to the person who has requested the transfer share, but please note, these messages are not private.  They are visible to anyone using Classified Adverts.  So please consider carefully what you type.

When someone sends you a message, you will be alerted by email.  Using KTLN Classified Adverts, you can reply, and exchange messages.  If you include personal contact details, such as an email address or phone number, we recommend that once you have exchanged these details, you unpublish the advert, so that any personal details are no longer visible.  All adverts expire after one month anyway.

Advertise for free
Registered members of KTLN can once more, advertise things for sale, or free to a good home.  If you are looking for something you can put an ad in the Items Wanted section.  It works just like the ads in your local newspaper - only it's online.  You can include a photo of the item too.

And the good news is that, as before, everything can be advertised absolutely free of charge.

You can choose to have an enhanced advert, in which case we ask you to make a small donation to The KTLN Trust, a UK based fund for the benefit of Kalkan - but a basic advert is completely free.

Adverts automatically expire after one month.  If you wish to readvertise, simply relist your item.
