Share 3. Property ownership Remember that each of our 406 respondents represents a household or group of people. We estimate the total number represented is over 1,200 people.  Only 21 of our 406 respondents, (5%), rent long term in Kalkan - the same figure as last year. 3.2 How many properties do you own in Kalkan?  52% of respondents to the KTLN Kalkan survey own at least one property, whilst 48% do not own any property. 3.3 If you own a property, do you advertise it for rent?  51% of property owners rent their property, whilst 49% do not. About the same as last year. 3.4 Are you seriously considering buying a property in Kalkan?  44 respondents (11%) say they are seriously thinking of buying a property, compared to 74 people (21%) last year. Fewer buyers this year. 3.5 Are you seriously considering selling a property in Kalkan?  54 respondents (13%) say they are seriously thinking of selling a property, compared to 46 people (12%) last year. More sellers this year.
3.6 If you are an owner, when did you buy your property in Kalkan? 3.7 If you are an owner, how satisfied are you with the build quality of your property?  77% of property owners are either very satisfied or satisfied with the build quality. This is broadly in line with last year. Our advice is always to seek truly independent testimonials from satisfied customers. 3.8 If you are an owner, how satisfied are you with the builder's after sales service?  Only 51% of owners said they were either very satisfied, or satisfied with after sales service. That's 7% down on last year's figure. Meanwhile, 30% were either very dissatisfied or dissatisfied - an increase of 8% on last year. This highlights the importance of a builder's track record. Get to know who has a good reputation, by independent research, rather than simply relying on promises. 3.9 If you use a property maintenance company, how satisfied are you with the service?  79% of owners are either very satisfied, or satisfied with their maintenance service - a slightly improved percentage on last year's survey. 3.10 If you have a land line telephone, how satisfied are you with the service?  8% of phone users are dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with the service. This is an improvement on last year, when the equivalent figure was 12%. 3.11 If you have ADSL (broadband), how satisfied are you with the service?  19% of ADSL users are dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with the service. This is a worse position than last year, when the equivalent figure was 13%.
