This time, we would like to know your views on the subject of what to wear in shops, restaurants and on the streets around town, in hot summer weather. Specifically, we are thinking about how little is acceptable, away from the beach - ladies wearing a bikini, or men not wearing a top, for example. If you are on holiday, is it your right to dress as you please? Do you think it's nobody else's business. Or do you think partial nudity is disrespectful to locals? Is it acceptable for ladies to walk down the road in the briefest of bikinis, and for men to go into a supermarket in a pair of Speedos? Let us know what you think, by voting in our poll. To keep it simple, we have used the term 'swimwear' to mean very little clothing. Which of the following statements best fits your own view:
Registered members of KTLN can find the poll on the right side of our home page, underneath the webcam image. By the way, our photo above was taken by the beach, when it was the Kalkan Festival of the Sea. For information, when you click on the poll results page, you will see a drop down box, where you can select and view results from all KTLN polls. The previous poll was about security CCTV cameras in Kalkan. The majority of people who voted, (around 70%), think CCTV cameras are a good idea, and most of this group were happy to pay something towards a local CCTV system. Just over 17% are not in favour, whilst about 10% were not sure either way. Kalkan Turkish Local News has previously reported that a project is underway, looking at installing CCTV cameras in and around Kalkan. The biggest questionmark appears to be over funding. We will let you know about any developments in this area. KTLN - your window on Kalkan Turkey. Katie-Ellen |
