Kalkan weatherOne minute we are basking in very pleasant spring sunshine, which is warm enough to be able to eat al fresco, in a t-shirt, and now we have a chill factor that brings tears to your eyes.

It's decidedly chilly in Kalkan right now, as a result of cold air blowing in from the north west.

The brisk winds are adding a chill factor, so that it feels even colder. In fact, it is so cold, that scooter riders are actually putting their crash helmets on!

This spell of 'brass monkeys' weather is set to continue for a few days, before temperatures start to slowly creep up again.

Whilst there is no snow in Kalkan, you don't have to go too far up into the mountains to see it. Anyone driving to or from Antalya, over the mountains should take extra care on the icy roads, particularly after the sun has set.

Still, we can't really complain. People in Istanbul, Ankara and many other places in Turkey have got severe disruption caused by bad weather. Click on the following links to read more

And let's not forget, it is still winter after all, and so far, Kalkan has had a pretty mild one. It may be cold, but it is dry, and right now you can still see blue skies on the KTLN webcams.
