Clocks go forwardHere is a reminder that clocks go forward by one hour in Turkey, at 3am on Monday 28th March 2011.

You will note that this change is 24 hours after the UK, and mainland Europe.

The reason for this difference is that Sunday is a big day for university exams in Turkey, so to avoid any confusion for students, (and to allow them an extra hour in bed!), the change in time will be a day later this year.

So, for one day only, on Sunday 27th March, remember that the time difference between Turkey and the UK will be just one hour.

This may be of particular interest, if you are catching a flight that day, or taking part in the Sunday Lycian Way walk!
