Share KTLN is holding another online auction to raise money for worthy causes in Kalkan. A number of Kalkan businesses have kindly donated items that you can bid for. We would like to thank every one of them for their generosity. Last year, we raised a brilliant £2,000. Let's see if we can raise the bar in 2011. It's a tall order, but let's have a go. Here, we tell you all about it. Where can I find the auction items? When does the bidding start? When does the auction end? What is being auctioned? Once you have selected an item that you may be interested in, you will see a brief description of exactly what you are bidding for. How can I see what people are bidding for an item? Non-members will be able to see the items on offer, but in order to place a bid message, you need to be logged in as a KTLN member. Next to the Messages box, is a Send Messages box. This is where you can enter your bid. Just type in how much you wish to offer. Your KTLN User Name will automatically be shown next to your message, so you don't need to type it. Your bid will appear alongside any others in the Messages box. Please note that all items show an indicative 'guide value' or 'ask price' - an estimate of what you may ordinarily pay in Kalkan. It is not a reserve price. You can bid whatever you want, but please note that a couple of high value items do have a reserve price. Having said that, we would prefer you to be as generous as you can. This is all going towards good causes in Kalkan. Sterling (GBP) or Turkish lira (TL)? How will I know if my bid is successful? How do I pay? One option is to use Paypal. If you choose that way of paying, Paypal does make a small charge. But there is an alternative, easy way to pay, using online banking, that does not incur any bank charges. Payment should be in sterling (GBP) if at all possible. If you can only pay in Turkish lira, don't worry - we will work something out with you. But please make your bid in sterling anyway. Does all of the money paid go directly to The KTLN Trust? How will you spend the money? If you would like to see details of what we have already raised, and what we have done with the money, see our Donations Update page. Last minute bids The KTLN website clock is the one that counts. When you make a bid, our system will show the date, and time (to the second). We will use this information to determine whose bid to take when the auction closes. Our advice is not to leave it to the very last minute. We aim to be scrupulously fair on any last minute hectic bidding, but please don't sue us if you feel that your final split second bid has not counted. Our decision on who has won the auction items will be final. Terms and conditions
Have fun! KTLN - your window on Kalkan Turkey. Katie-Ellen |
