The KTLN Trust online auction is now open for your bids.

The auction officially starts in the morning, but what the heck -  if you are up late on Friday, and want a sneak preview, read on.

In this article we list the 41 items available.  Lots of meals for 2, plus quite a few other great items to bid for.

If you bid tonight, (Friday 8th April), your offer counts.  If last year is anything to go by, things will start to hot up as we get close to the deadline.  The auction will close at 8pm prompt (UK time) on Sunday 10th April.

Thank you for your continued support
As we said last year, this is only possible because of the generosity of so many Kalkan businesses, and we would once again like to say a huge thank you to all the donors.

And we rely on you, dear KTLN members, to join in and support this worthy cause.

This is what it's all about
Our donations update goes as far as 31st December 2010.  Since then, we have spent a further 7,906.25TL (about £3,162).  The trustees agreed to help local schoolchildren by buying the following things:

Kalkan First School - laptop computer, projector, screen and cables - 2,541.25TL

Kalkan First School - football team kit, volleyball team kit, basketball team kit, plus assorted balls.  We also bought some table tennis bats and balls.

Sütlüğen School - from discussions we had with local teachers, we became aware that in the towns and villages in the Kalkan hinterland, lots of schools don't get the same kind of support experienced by Kalkan school.  We agreed that we would also buy a volleyball team kit for the school in nearby Sütlüğen.

In total, all this sports equipment came to 5,365TL.

Spending the money wisely
As we look ahead to spending further amounts, we would like to ensure that the money you donate, continues to be spent wisely.  In deciding on future good causes, we will take into account where funding has already been spent, and we will wish to consider new beneficiaries.

The trustees take advice from local people, and we welcome all suggestions as to how we can direct these funds, so if you have any good ideas, please do get in touch.

Whilst we appreciate you want to get a bargain, please be as generous as you can.  We promise that 100% of the money you donate goes to the beneficiaries.
