The Göz Optician store is set to open week commencing 18th April (the shop is still being fitted out). You can find it in the centre of town on No 2 Sokak, between Baykush Gift Store and Şeyma's Spices. The owner, Barbaros, told KTLN he is a qualified optician, (but not an optometrist), who studied at university in Istanbul, and he has been practicing for 14 years. He has another shop in Hisaronu. For anyone who has problems pronouncing his name, he also answers to the name Bobby. He and his assistant, both speak good English. When the shop opens, he will be able to dispense lens prescriptions. Please note: in our original article, we said that Barbaros was a qualified optometrist. In fact, he is not. This was a misunderstanding, on our part. He can not test your eyes, however, if you have a prescription, he can make lenses and sell you spectacles. The nearest place to get your eyes tested is in Fethiye. Barbaros can make an appointment for you. Sorry for any confusion.
