KTLN received an award at the National Sovereignty & Children's Day celebrations on Saturday.

It was presented by Kalkan First School, in recognition of the help The KTLN Trust has given to the school over recent months.

So really, this award belongs to every one of you who has made a donation to The KTLN Trust, and on that basis, I was happy to accept the award on behalf of all of you.

Recently, The KTLN Trust has bought, with money donated by you, a number of things for the school, including a computer, projector and screen. 

We also bought sports kit and equipment for the school's football, basketball and volleyball teams.

Given that this award belongs to many people, I intend to pass it round, so anyone in Kalkan who has donated, can have it on their mantlepiece for a week or two!

Left: The award.  It says, "Türk Milli Eğitimine ve Kalkan İlköğretim Okulu'na yapmış olduğunuz değerli katkılarınızdan dolayı teşekkürlerimizi sunarız".

Roughly translated, this means, "Turkish National Education and Kalkan First School, would like to thank you for the valuable contribution you have made".
