It is full of factual information and the constantly updated news is extremely useful. It doesn't enter into debate, just delivers. The webcams are pretty fab too :)

Cycle Tour 2011Well, it was brief, but it was spectacular.

At around 13.25 this afternoon, the 47th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey sped down the D400 towards the traffic lights, and in a flash, they were gone.

The upper carriageway of the recently finished stretch of road between Kalkan and Kışla, presented no problems, as the cyclists swept through.

Some children from Kalkan First School waited patiently to wave their Turkish flags, and a small crowd gathered, as all traffic was halted.

The riders themselves were preceded by a phalanx of motorbikes and speeding cars, and then followed by support vehicles, and a few police cars and ambulances.

For anyone who is interested, Andre Greipel from Omega Parma Lotto, won the 184 km long Fethiye-Finike stage of the tour, in 4 hours 27 minutes 3 seconds. The race will continue tomorrow with 138 km long Tekirova-Manavgat stage.

You can read more details on the official tour website: Cycling Tour Website

Here are a few photos from the day.
