Your site is great.  Webcams, day in the life, knowledge bank and news up dates.  Brilliant.  Keep up the good work :-)

KTLN on FacebookFacebook is an increasingly popular social networking website.  However, if you don't use it, this article is unlikely to be of interest to you.

For some time, we have resisted the urge to jump in, but having given it further thought, we have now decided to embrace Facebook, and have our own Kalkan Turkish Local News page.

In this article we tell you why we are doing this, and how we intend to use Facebook.

The first thing to say is that nothing changes on the KTLN website.  You will continue to get all the content you have come to expect.  The only thing you will notice is that there is now a Facebook box on the left hand side of our home page.

KTLN on Facebook

Why start a Facebook page?
Two reasons.  Firstly, it is an easy way to publicise KTLN to a wider audience.  And secondly, it provides an additional channel for you, our KTLN readers, to communicate with us.

As far as publicising KTLN is concerned, all websites aim to reach as many of their target audience as possible.  Facebook will enable us to get the KTLN Brand noticed.

How will KTLN use its Facebook page?
We will use our Facebook page to remind you about some of the content contained within the site - some of which you may not even realise is there.

We will also keep you up to speed on our plans for developing the KTLN website, and any technical issues we are dealing with, (such as webcam problems).  Think of it like 'KTLN - behind the scenes'.

And in relation to two way communication, whilst our Feedback Box on the KTLN home page is fine, we think Facebook will provide us with a useful, additional communication channel.  Facebook will enable more KTLN readers to tell us what they think about our website.

We would also encourage you to use our Facebook page to tell us about any breaking news, that we may wish to follow up and report on, more fully.

And finally, we can confirm that the KTLN Facebook page will not be used to sell you stuff.  Just like the main website, it will be free of property sales, property rentals and other, holiday related goods and services.

So what happens now?
We hope that you will continue to visit Kalkan Turkish Local News, to read our articles, and view our web cameras.  To be reminded of all KTLN content, please click here.

If you are a Facebook user, we would invite you to click on to the 'Like' button on the KTLN home page.  This will display a brief message on your Facebook wall, and will let others know about our website.

In short, if you use Facebook, and you enjoy the KTLN website, why not click on 'Like', and help us to spread the word.  If you don't like what you see, please feel free to tell us.  We value constructive feedback.
