The main reason [for joining] is that since I have been in Kalkan (14 years), I have for the first time good information about what is happening in Kalkan.

Rockfall on Kas Road PDF Print E-mail

Earlier today, Thursday 7th May, at just after 2 pm there was a rockfall on Kaş Road close to where the work on the new marina is taking place.  Rocks the size of half a car are reported to have fallen down the mountain and on to the road.

The rockfall was sufficiently serious for the road to be temporarily closed, and drivers had to make their way towards Kalkan using the mountain road.  A restaurant owner on the Kaş Road confirmed later in the afternoon that traffic was flowing normally, so KTLN assumes the blockage has been removed.

Whilst construction work continues on the mountain side, close to the stretch of road just before you get to Kaş, it is advisable to proceed with extra caution.
