I find the most useful and interesting information is the Kalkan news. I was particulary interested in the road improvement info.

This is good news for Kalkan residents and visitors. A bit more illumination on the way home, after a good night out is to be welcomed. It's also good from a security perspective. Although, perhaps less welcome for keen star watchers, who probably enjoy a clearer view when the lights are off.If one of your street lights is not working, you can report it. The Tedaş office will deal with any problems related to power outages, however, for routine street light repairs, you should contact the smaller Elektrik Arıza office, on the road up to Akbel. (It's on the left side, not far after the Karadeniz bakery) You can phone them to report faulty street lights on 186, but please note you can only call this number on a land line. It's not for mobiles. They speak Turkish only. Below: A Tedaş workman rising to the occasion, and fixing a street light.

Workers from the local electricity supplier, Tedaş, are out and about at the moment, fixing any street lights that are not working.
