Electricity alert: Possibly two more nights without power PDF Print E-mail

Kalkan electricityElectricity Alert UPDATED: The Tedaş (electricity company), cut supplies in Kaş and Kalkan overnight, between 01.00 and 07.30 (Thursday morning), to carry out essential work to the network.

After a hot, sunny day, with temperatures touching 30c, it was a sweltering night for many.

Unfortunately, we may have a couple more nights of the same to come.

We say "may have", because this news has come from the Kaş Tedaş.  They say that the whole coastal area from Demre to Kalkan is affected by this work.

However, when we sought confirmation from Kalkan Tedaş they said there is no plan for a cut.

So the best we can tell you is that there are conflicting reports, and we will only know for sure in the morning.

The information from Kaş Tedaş is that the power will be cut off between approximately 01.00 and 07.00 tonight and tomorrow night.  Technically, that's in the early hours of Friday and Saturday.

We felt we should publish the alert, just in case it is true.  Of course, we hope that Kalkan Tedaş is right, but time will tell.

Update Friday morning: At KTLN HQ here in Kalkan, we did not notice any cuts last night, although we know that there were some short lived outages in the Kaş area.  Let's hope that's an end to it!
