If you are in the UK, you may see a partial eclipse, (cloud permitting), but if you are in Kalkan, you will see 'the full monty'. It is a particularly long-lasting eclipse this time, because the moon passes near to the centre of the Earth's shadow, plus the moon is currently close to its furthest possible point from Earth (apogee), which means it looks smaller, and therefore takes longer to traverse the Earth's shadow. From the start of the eclipse to the moon emerging again from the Earth's shadow, will take about one hour and forty minutes. Definitely an evening for a rooftop restaurant! We hope to bring you some images later this week.
