The wrestling competition in Üzümlü was a big hit on Sunday (10th May). The stadium was packed to capacity on a very warm day, with the audience entertained by some good bouts. It's completely different to the commercialised, glitzy wrestling seen on TV, which is basically choreographed theatre.
This is real wrestling, and it's a sport that has a huge following in Turkey. If you missed it this time, you will have to wait until May 2010 for the next local contest. Registered members of KTLN can see larger images in the Photo Gallery.
