Kalkan waterKalkan Turkish Local News can confirm that the newly installed pumps at Saklıkent, began pumping water to Kalkan this afternoon, (Monday).

We paid another visit today, to see how the installation had gone overnight.  Following successful testing this morning, the valves were opened up at about 15.00.

So we can say that we saw and heard the new pumps working, and water is flowing once more.  This will come as quite a relief for many Kalkan residents.

Water pressure is now building up.  Some residents may have water by early evening, whilst for others, depending on where they are on the water grid, it may take until tomorrow to get back to normal.

However, we are informed that most properties should have something by tonight.

Below: Photo from Monday afternoon, shortly after the new pumps kicked in, showing the Mayors of Kalkan and Kaş. Those pumps are noisy!

How did you cope?
If you have been affected by the water problems, or know of others who have been, KTLN would like to hear from you.  Was it horrendous or were you stoic in the face of adversity - stiff upper lip, and all that.

If you have a story to tell, please drop us a line using the Contact Us tab at the top of this page.
