ShareTuesday 19th May is a public holiday in Turkey.  It is Youth & Sports Day (Gençlik ve Spor Bayramı).

In the morning at 9 am, there will be a ceremony down by the Atatürk statue in town.  Following this, there will be a number of activities taking place up at the main (green) school - the Kalkan Ilköğretim Okulu.  Anyone is free to join in the celebrations.

If you have a Turkish flag, why not fly it to mark this special day in Turkey.  All banks and the Belediye will be closed on this day.
