In last month's KTLN poll we asked about your position on travel and health insurance.

Over 200 of you took part, and the results are shown below.

It turns out that visitors to Kalkan are a cautious and careful bunch, whilst one third of ex-pats are prepared to take a risk.

With reference to holidaymakers, 99% of respondents (182 people), told us they have travel insurance, which is a remarkably high percentage.  The British Foreign & Commonwealth Office will be so proud!

Turning to Kalkan residents, 64% of respondents (22 people), said they have health cover.  Around 55% have private health insurance, whilst 9% have SGK, (a government health insurance scheme).  This leaves 36% uninsured, and crossing their fingers.

Over recent months we have heard of some difficulties regarding foreigners trying to get SGK health insurance in Kaş.  KTLN has asked the British Embassy to assist by seeking clarification on a number of points of detail.  When we have news on this we will publish a report.
