The official opening of the Likya Residence & Spa took place on Friday 15th May.  The organisers did a marvellous job, including arranging for perfect weather, as hundreds of people turned out. 

Amongst the VIP guests were Süleyman Yılmaz, the Kaş Kaymakam; Saim Karakurt, the Mayor of Kalkan; Aslan Uzun, the owner of the hotel, and Nick Wrightman of Tapestry Collection. 

Most people congregated in front of the hotel by the outdoor swimming pool and bar, enjoying the stunning views over Kalkan Bay.  There was live music from a duo called the Euphorics, followed by a few short speeches on the steps leading to the hotel reception.

The evening culminated in a dazzling performance by a Brazilian dance troupe, which had the effect of raising the temperature by a few degrees.

Finally, there was a colourful firework display which was visible to the whole town.
