Great new UK mobile phone service - giffgaff PDF Print E-mail

giffgaffWe hope you will forgive us if we digress from our normal coverage of all things Turkish, and Kalkan in particular, but we found this deal so incredible we wanted to let KTLN readers know about it.

In fact, this is so good that we spent ages looking for the catch, but we can't find one.  The family members of the KTLN team have now switched.

Just to be clear, this is a UK based mobile phone service, not Turkish.

Here is the deal, in outline. It is called giffgaff, and is a pay as you go service, not a monthly contract.

So it is particularly good for those people who spend part of their year in Kalkan and part in the UK, because you don't have a monthly payment to make when you are away from the UK, (unless you use international roaming, which can be expensive).

You get a free SIM card, and if you want, free porting of your existing number over to the new service.

The best bit is the packages (goody bags) you can buy.  Here are a couple of examples.

£10 package = 250 minutes, plus unlimited texts, plus unlimited 3G internet broadband.

£20 package = 800 minutes, plus unlimited texts and unlimited 3G internet broadband.

Calls between you and others on the giffgaff service are free at all times - also free are 0800 and 0500 freefone numbers.

This is a subsidiary of O2, and uses the O2 network, so you are dealing with a reputable company, with good UK network coverage.

You can use international roaming, but prices for Turkey are not as cheap as EU countries.  We have not compared the roaming tariff with other service providers.

How can they afford to provide such a good deal?  It is brilliantly simple.  Instead of having buildings full of service staff, who pass you from pillar to post before cutting you off, giffgaff Customer Service and Sales is run by you, the members. We all help each other out, with online support and advice.

Kalkan Turkish Local News is brought to you by Fedweb, a British based web design business, and if you join giffgaff using the following Fedweb link, you get an extra £5 credit to start you off.  [N.B. See below].  Here is the link: www.fedweb.co.uk/freesim

Just to be totally transparent, Fedweb also benefits under this referral scheme.

If you think this could save you, or others in your family some money, take a look at the link above.

We don't normally depart from all things Kalkan, but we think this service is amazing, and well worth telling you about.  And as you know, here at KTLN we do like to focus on good news whenever we can!
