As an owner of a property in Kalkan, this site seemed an excellent way of keeping in touch, especially as for much of the year I am not able to be out there.

Overnight power outage hits Kalkan area PDF Print E-mail

Electricity supplyOver recent months the power supply in Kalkan has been quite reliable.

Last night however, Kalkan and surrounding villages lost power from just after midnight, until 07.40 this morning.

The residents of Kaş suffered a power surge round about the time that Kalkan's supply was cut.

Local sources have told KTLN that there was a forest fire in the Kaş area, and the Tedaş decided to cut the supply, however this has not been confirmed.

With overnight temperatures in the mid 20s, it was a warm night, with no electric fans or air con.

Fortunately, the power resumed in time for rugby fans to watch the Scotland v England game on television.  (The game started at 10.30 local time).
