As an owner of a property in Kalkan, this site seemed an excellent way of keeping in touch, especially as for much of the year I am not able to be out there.

Last night however, Kalkan and surrounding villages lost power from just after midnight, until 07.40 this morning. The residents of Kaş suffered a power surge round about the time that Kalkan's supply was cut. Local sources have told KTLN that there was a forest fire in the Kaş area, and the Tedaş decided to cut the supply, however this has not been confirmed. With overnight temperatures in the mid 20s, it was a warm night, with no electric fans or air con. Fortunately, the power resumed in time for rugby fans to watch the Scotland v England game on television. (The game started at 10.30 local time).
