The Mouse Island swimming challenge - Saturday 29th October PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 27 October 2011

Chris & JulesHere is a reminder that Chris Davies and Jules Garrod will be doing their sponsored swim from Mouse Island to Kalkan Beach this Saturday 29th October.

Their swim is a personal challenge, but is also intended to raise money to support the family of Abderrahim Genç, who recently lost a leg in a road accident.

KTLN understands that about 2,500TL has already been pledged, towards their target of 7,000TL.

Those of you wishing to make a contribution online can find instructions here: Donate to The KTLN Trust

Or you can contact Chris and Jules directly, if you want to arrange a cash contribution.

All payments made to The KTLN Trust account until the end of October 2011, will be passed on to this fundraising effort.

Those wanting to come and see them arrive (hopefully still swimming) are welcome to come to the town beach. They expect to arrive any time from 1.30 pm onwards.

On advice from the coastguard the support boat will not now be the Anil, but a small speedboat more suited to hauling in a swimmer in the event of an emergency.

This has been generously provided free of charge by the Kalamar Dive Centre and will be crewed by internationally acclaimed yachtsman and Kalkan resident Andrew Miller.
