It is with some sadness that we have to report that Yasemin Okçu, the manager of Deniz Bank in Kalkan, is on the move.

Senior bosses at Deniz Bank think that Yasemin has done such a good job in Kalkan that they want her to do the same thing in another of their branches.

This is Yasemin's last week working in Kalkan branch.  With effect from Monday 1st June, she will be the manager at Ortaca branch, which is just the other side of Dalaman.

The good news is that Yasemin is still going to be a part of Kalkan life, as she will stay in Ortaca during the week and return home to Kalkan at weekends.  Yasemin's husband, Taner, will live mostly in Kalkan, but will visit Ortaca now and again.

For Kalkan regulars, Yasemin is a well known and respected figure in town.  Yasemin was the first bank manager in Kalkan.  Even before there was a bank office, she drove the mobile bank bus into town once a week.  Now, having just moved into her fantastic new office above Yalı supermarket, she has to vacate it, giving up her great view across Kalkan Bay.

Purely from a selfish point of view, at KTLN we are delighted that Yasemin will keep her main home where her heart is - in Kalkan.  This means that she can remain as one of the trustees of The KTLN Trust.

We wish her well in her new role.  When we know who her replacement will be in Kalkan, we will let you know.
