We asked you to choose from three gardens:  A - Glass House, Kalamar; B - Villa Elsa, Kalamar, and C - Villa Incantata, Kızıltaş.

You only had 5 days to vote for your favourite, but just under 100 of you did so. 

The winner is  .......

C - Villa Incantata, Kızıltaş, which received 49% of votes cast.

Congratulations to Carole & Don Warner, and to their gardener Ahmet. 

In second place was B - Villa Elsa, Kalamar, with 39% of votes, and in third place was A - Glass House, Kalamar, with 12%.

We would like to sincerely thank those KTLN members who took part.  It is clear to see how much thought and effort has gone into all of the gardens.

What about 2012?
We have been thinking about whether we should run the competition next year, in the light of the number of entries received, and also other feedback people have sent in.

We have decided to listen to your feedback, and do something different in 2012.  You told us that you have enjoyed seeing what people have done to make their gardens attractive, but you don't especially want there to be a competitive element.

So next year, we have decided not to run a competition.  Instead, we will aim to have a regular gardening feature.  However, if this is to work, we will need your input and support.  We would like KTLN readers to share details of their gardens with us.

Let's share the very best of Kalkan with others
Again, our aim is simple.  KTLN wants to share with others, the very best of Kalkan.  We wish to acknowledge the work of the many talented and dedicated gardeners of Kalkan, in a way that may inspire and encourage others.

The gardening feature we propose to have will be open to everyone - those with private gardens, communal gardens, and also businesses, including hotels.

We have already seen some wonderful examples of what can be achieved, and we know that Kalkan has many more dedicated gardeners out there. 

Remember, next year, it's not a competition.  We are simply inviting you to allow your fellow Kalkan lovers, to see the results of your hard work.  We look forward to hearing from you.
