The site gets better and better. We found it particularly useful this year (2010) to enable us to keep an eye on the roadworks.

Normally, builders would be chomping at the bit to kick things off, but not this year. Kurban Bayram celebrations started in the afternoon of 5th November, and ended on 9th November. Then the 10th November was the anniversary of the death of Atatürk. In view of these special days, construction work did not begin until Friday 11th November. Whilst we heard the sound of drilling machines echoing around town, on Friday, there do not appear to be that many active building sites. From conversations we have had with local developers, it would seem that not that many villas are being built this winter. The ones that we are aware of, are quite big - at the higher end of the market. Below: In Kızıltaş - digging out a plot for four villas - two of which will be built this winter.
Below: Levelling a site just down from the main D400 junction. Is this the location for a new Migros?

It has been very quiet in Kalkan since the end of October - the end of the main tourist season.
