A day in the life is great to get to know our Kalkan neighbours and there is so much more. Mainly for me it's the Ten Seond Turkish - you've made it easy for us, so THANK YOU.

Raincoats for Kalkan children

Thanks to the generosity of those of you who have donated to The KTLN Trust, we are happy to report that every child at Kalkan First School and Akbel First School, now has a funky, new plastic raincoat.

Many children have to walk to school, and these plastic raincoats - or to be more accurate, ponchos, should help to keep them dry, if they get caught out in the rain.

Initially, we thought about just getting them for the children who walk to school, but then we thought it would seem a bit mean for some children to have them, and others not, so we decided to give a poncho to every child.

The total cost of 625 coats, at 4.66 TL each, was 2,912.50TL.

They are pretty colourful, so you won't be able to miss them.  The children seemed happy to have them, when we went to see them handed out on Friday.  See our photos below, from Kalkan First School.
