We have some good news.

If you read our articles about Jean Marie Kihm, who was walking from Paris to Jerusalem, via Kalkan, you will be pleased to know that he arrived in Jerusalem on Saturday 12th November.

But not everything has gone to plan.  Jean Marie had intended to continue his walk through Syria, however this is not a safe place for travellers at the moment.

So he had to think of an alternative route.  He decided to take a detour, via Northern Cyprus.  Jean Marie took a ferry from near to Silifke, (just this side of Mersin), to Northern Cyprus. 

From there he hoped to get another boat to the port of Haifa, in Israel, but as this was not possible, he ended up catching a plane to Tel Aviv.

Not exactly, as he had planned things, but events outside of his control left him with no alternative. 

Despite these changes, we think it is still a remarkable journey, and we salute Jean Marie on his extraordinary achievement.  We wish him a safe return journey.
