Following our roads update (see Local News article dated 16th May 2009 - Kalkan Roads Update), we have sought further advice on when work may resume on Kaş Road.

As we have said before, predicting when things will happen is not an exact science, however the best advice we have at the moment is that there will be no work in June, July or August 2009.

The reason we say this is because a formal request has gone in to the National Highways Office in Ankara, regarding the need for an additional junction on the D400 near to the Luka restaurant, which would allow traffic coming from Kaş direction to come into town, along Şehitler Caddesi.  This request will take some time to process, and some local people who are involved do not think that any further work can continue until the matter has been resolved.

Of course, we may be proved wrong.  Maybe the request will be fast tracked with a speedy resolution found in days.  It doesn't seem likely though.
