The main reason [for joining] is that since I have been in Kalkan (14 years), I have for the first time good information about what is happening in Kalkan.

GyrapixGreat news for Kalkan lovers.  We are delighted to announce that we have teamed up with Gyrapix, to bring you some brilliant 360 degree views of your favourite place.

If you are logged in as a KTLN member, you will find Kalkan 360o Virtual Tour in our Main Menu.

Currently, we have 14 brilliant 'virtual reality' views to share with you, and we hope to add some more in due course.

You can enjoy vistas of the harbour, take in the view at Merkez Cafe, scan the sights at Moonlight Bar, pan round at Cafe Vita, and much, much more.

Below: A view of Kalkan, as seen from the harbour wall.

How can I see these 360o views?
Simply click on Kalkan 360o Virtual Tour in our Main Menu.  Please allow a few moments for the first image to load.  It's worth the wait.

The default image shown is at the harbour, with alternative scenes shown at the bottom, (see photo above).  Just click on the scene you want to watch.

You can control exactly how you watch these panoramic views - scan left and right, or up and down.  Double click on the photo, to see a full screen image; the resolution is so good, that you still get an amazingly crisp, clear view.  To come out of full screen, simply press the Esc (escape) button.

We think you will find that navigating your way round is quite intuitive, but if you really get stuck, please get in touch with us.

A word or two about Gyrapix
Gyrapix is a UK based business, that uses state of the art photographic equipment, and computer programmes, to produce high quality 360o 'virtual reality' images.

The man behind the company is Stuart Hobson, from Cheshire.  Stuart took early retirement a few years ago, from the pharmaceutical industry, and decided to turn his love of computing and photography into a part time business.

Fortunately for us, Stuart, and his wife Cath, are also Kalkan lovers, which means that Kalkan has had the Gyrapix treatment.

Stuart believes that these virtual tours will be of interest to lots of people, particularly those trying to sell or rent properties.  You can read more about the possibilities, on his Gyrapix web site - click here

Stuart and Cath's story
They first travelled to, and fell in love with, Turkey on their honeymoon in 1988. They stayed near Ölü Deniz and hired a car, taking a trip along the coast road to Kaş.

As they drove along, a particularly picturesque bay caught their attention and they stopped to take a photograph of the small cluster of white-washed buildings, splashed with purple bougainvillea, nestling at the foot of the hillside, around a small harbour.  This was their first glimpse of Kalkan.

Four years later they stayed in Kalkan for the first time at the Patara Pansiyon near the harbour.  They visited Kalkan on many more occasions, before eventually fulfilling their dream of buying a villa.  The Kalkan bug strikes again!
