CPI November 2011The Turkish Statistics Institute (Turkstat) has announced that the annual rate of  inflation, (CPI), rose to 9.48% in November.

This is the highest rate seen over the last year and a half.  In the previous month, inflation was just 7.66%.

The Central Bank of Turkey is now predicting a year end rate of 8.3%, although some economists are saying that inflation will reach double digits.

Contributory factors to the rise, are recent increases in taxes, and higher energy costs.
