This is the highest rate seen over the last year and a half. In the previous month, inflation was just 7.66%. The Central Bank of Turkey is now predicting a year end rate of 8.3%, although some economists are saying that inflation will reach double digits. Contributory factors to the rise, are recent increases in taxes, and higher energy costs.

The Turkish Statistics Institute (Turkstat) has announced that the annual rate of inflation, (CPI), rose to 9.48% in November.
