KTLN emergency section - pages updated PDF Print E-mail

Emergency situationsKTLN has updated the section that is dedicated to various emergency scenarios.

You can access the Emergency Situations Advice section by clicking on the red 'Help' icon towards the top of the KTLN home page.

We know that some people have printed off these pages, to include in welcome packs, where they rent a villa or apartment.  If that is you, it may be an idea to take a look and perhaps print the pages again, in time for the new season.

What has changed?
We have clarified, and indeed simplified the emergency telephone numbers.  In a nutshell, the only emergency number you need to know is 112.  This acts like 999 in the UK.

The other three digit emergency numbers still exist, and work, but why bother remembering each one, when 112 will suffice?

We also point out that if you call 112 from a land line, the emergency services immediately know where you are - they have the address where the phone is registered.  This may be helpful if you would find it hard to provide directions.

It's something worth thinking about, however if the most convenient and fastest way of calling is by using a mobile phone, then clearly, in an emergency, you should use that.

The only exception to calling 112 we would recommend, is if you want to get directly through to the Kalkan Jandarma.  Their direct number is 0242 844 3005.

There are one or two other minor changes in there, including the contact details of another English speaking Kalkan lawyer, whose number is provided, in case you require urgent legal assistance.

We sincerely hope you never need to use this information, but we know from your feedback that it has proved helpful to some of you.

If you spot any errors or omissions in any of our emergency articles, please drop us a line so we can make changes.
