Photo enhancing software - meeting Tuesday 20th December PDF Print E-mail

Kalkan cougarA couple of keen local photographers are going to be sharing their knowledge of some popular photo enhancement software packages next week.

Barry Varney and Paul Brown, will be explaining how to get the best out of Picasa and Photoshop, at a meeting to be held at La Sera restaurant, on Kalamar Road.

The session is scheduled to start at 4pm on Tuesday 20th December, and it's completely free of charge. Come along, and learn how to use this very clever software.

Also up for discussion will be whether people would like to have a regular (monthly) photography group meeting.

KTLN readers will recall that a Kalkan Photography Group was set up in December 2010.  You can see some great images on their Facebook page.

This group had a number of meetings, however as virtually all members were Turkish, meetings were conducted mostly in Turkish.  This isn't a criticism, as clearly, we are in Turkey, and the language spoken should be Turkish.  But it didn't attract many non-Turkish photographers.

[Editor: In the initial meetings, I was the only non-Turk present, and whilst they did kindly offer to translate everything, I said I didn't think they should have to, and I tried to keep up!]

The reason for mentioning the existing photography club, is that if it turns out next Tuesday that there is demand from the English speaking community for a regular meeting, there are some talented Turkish photographers, who speak excellent English, who might be interested to come along.

But first things first.  Why not go to the photo software meeting on Tuesday to discover how to make the most of your images.
