The World Karate Championships have just taken place in Belgrade, Serbia, and three children from Kalkan performed well. Mert Özcan, (8); İsmet Kaan Günal, (9), and Ada Özgür Yılmaz, (9) were part of the Turkish Fudokan Shotokan Karate-Do team, taking part in the sport's top event of the year. Mert achieved a creditable 4th place in his age group, whilst İsmet Kaan and Ada won bronze medals in a team event. Congratulations to everyone in the Turkish team.
