It is one month since we launched The KTLN Trust, so we thought we would bring you an update.

If you want to know all about The KTLN Trust please see the article in our Main Menu.  Briefly, it is a UK based fund that will be used to support good causes in Kalkan.  It seeks voluntary donations from those people who enjoy using this website.

We are absolutely delighted to tell you that in our first month we have raised a significant amount of money.

Thanks to your generosity, we have received donations totalling £1,478.  We think that is pretty amazing.  KTLN makes no deductions whatsoever from these donations.

KTLN has also secured advertising income.  Our policy is to use this income to cover some, but not all, of our set up and running costs.  Once we have covered these outgoings, any surplus will be transferred to The KTLN Trust.  We calculate that the surplus currently stands at £350.

So, adding together the voluntary donations and surplus advertising revenue, after just one month we have a total of £1,828.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has already contributed.  The trustees promise to spend this money wisely on your behalf.  More on this in due course.

If you have not yet donated, we appeal to you to please consider making a contribution.  Remember, this is not to help us run the website, it is for good causes in and around Kalkan.  

In terms of who will benefit, we will consult with people in Kalkan.  We will talk to the Mayor and his team, and organisations such as the Kalkander Association, as well as members of the public, in order to identify which worthy causes we would like to support. For example, we may choose to support a specific event in Kalkan, an individual or group of individuals or perhaps a local project.

One area we do not currently envisage supporting is animals in Kalkan.  That is not because we are anti-animal, it's just that there is already an active pro-animal group in Kalkan which is successfully raising funds.

Based upon the feedback we are receiving, we believe that many people like what they are seeing on our website.  We have listened to your suggestions for improvement, and have brought in some enhancements.  Everyone on the KTLN team gives their time willingly and freely.  

All we ask in return is that you think about joining us in our aim to make a positive difference through The KTLN Trust.  Working together we can provide support where it is needed in Kalkan.
